up close and personal*
You may have come across my social media recently, or maybe I’ve helped you try meditation for the first time. Either way, I’m glad you have found me.
I start my day with mostly fighting off my inner demon and my first cup of coffee in the morning is telling myself in the mirror this favorite mantra of mine “I learn from my mistake, grateful for the present moment, and excited about the future”.
I am a survivor of both suicide loss and suicide attempt, overcoming my depression and acute loneliness, codependency issue and building my communication skills to achieve my life-long goal: post traumatic wisdom.
It is a life-long and a never linear journey but I am here to help you to proudly become an imperfectly perfect human – from building your personal first aid kit, reconnecting with your ability to self-soothe, finding self-acceptance, tapping into your self-awareness, and achieving the growth you deserve. All through the beautiful practice of mindfulness, meditation, breathwork and journaling.
When I was in the early stages of my life-changing mental breakdown in 2012, I had no guides, coach nor trauma informed friends or family, I had to learn through extreme trial and errors.
I will never be successful. I am incapable and undeserving. I am not good enough and I am bound to end up alone”
Does this sound familiar to you?
I know what it feels like to be too identified with your thoughts.
Imagine what it would feel like to feel free from your own incessant self-limiting thoughts.
Imagine what it would feel like to befriend all parts of your self and live a more present and mindful days.
After a decade of fighting my inner demon, learning failing and learning again, I now have graduated from Ananda Mandala Meditation Teacher Training with Punnu Wasu, Breath Coach Training with The Whole Health Project, Power of Awareness course with Greater Good of Science, UC. Berkeley, and The Science of Well-Being Course from Yale University.
And today, I am here to help guide you as a tour guide of life and/or a shoulder to cry on!
I am total homebody and an introvert, riddled with impostor syndrome on a daily basis, but I am passionate in helping future survivors like me - through my story, experience, knowledge and learnings.
On the weekends, you can probably find me lighting my favorite incense in my room, finding the next course or webinar I can join in or binge-watching Modern Family. But currently I am furthering my studies in Trauma-Sensitive Mindfulness Teacher Training and working on my podcast, Work in Progress.
But for now, you can subscribe to my newsletter or find me on Insight Timer.

Testimonials
“We worked with Janice during one of the most turbulent times... amid the uncertainty and horrors of the Pandemic, and we’re so grateful we did it!
Janice’s Self-Awareness Workshop was able to lift the spirit of the team, help them cope with their feelings, understand themselves better, and come out as better individuals. She led the class with authority and grace while remaining approachable to all levels of individuals. It was truly impactful and meaningful.”
- Bianda, Senior Researcher at Nation Insights
“During numerous wellness event collaborations with Mood, Janice has been a great meditation and breathwork expert.
She is always able to tailor the core of the meditation exercise to the event’s theme making the practice even more relevant to the participants. During the meditation, she is highly proactive in setting the right mood and tone for the exercise, combining all of the participant’s 5 senses to ensure they get the most out of their meditation practice.
It has been a great pleasure to work with her!”
- Kanina, Co-Founder of The Self Hug
“I attended the Women's Circle with Janice and loved it. I think it is rare to find an open and safe zone for people to reflect inwards with other people. That was exactly the type of community and environment that I found at the workshop.
It was great to connect with other women in a vulnerable setting where we could tune in and find growth inside. I felt super introspective and really enjoyed the experience. I will be back again!"
- Nicola, Co-Founder of Nona Women
“My first encounter with Janice in a meditation class I would say was unexpected. I was having a quite busy month. It feels exhausting, physically and mentally at that time.
I joined the class without putting any expectations and turns out it was one of the best meditation experiences I've ever had. Janice is a gentle and compassionate teacher as she reminds me to always be patient with myself. I really enjoyed how she guide the class and her soothing voice calmed all the tensions, which made me feel peaceful.
Thank you for the experience, looking forward to joining the class again in the future.”
- Liviani, Media and Publicity Coordinator at Museum MACAN
“I had the pleasure of working with Janice through many different events at Bartega and was thoroughly impressed. She has a warm and welcoming presence, and her guidance during sessions was incredibly valuable in helping our participants to find a sense of calm and clarity.
I highly recommend Janice to anyone looking to incorporate meditation and breath work into their personal growth journey!”
